Destiny’s Wrath of the Machine Raid

On Friday the 23rd Destiny’s new raid Wrath of the Machine was released. Only two hours in its release a clan has already bested SIVA (Infectious AI). In comparison to the last raid, King’s Fall took seven hours to complete. That is a huge difference. Shortening the raid can give players with limited time to be able to try out the raid. A smaller raid doesn’t mean anyone can breeze through it. Guardians will be tested. If you thought about raiding in Destiny or feel intimidated by the raids, Wrath of the Machine might be a good place to start.

The Wrath of the Machine is the newest raid in Destiny. Released last Friday, and in just a couple of hours the machine has been conquered. A Clan named Redeem was the first team in the world to beat it. And it only took two hours! This was just the normal mode of the raid. Like the other raids, in a couple weeks Bungie will release a hard mode for Wrath of the Machine. When it releases Guardians can go back with more rewards and some more difficult opponents to face. And expect it to be a lot longer compared to normal mode. Until then get your light level up, gear, and complete your daily and weekly strikes.

The Taken King’s raid was difficult for players to get into. Like myself, a lot of players felt like the raid was just too big and was too much of a time commitment. That was the main reason I fell off Destiny last year. The best thing about Destiny, for me are the raids. So far I enjoy the content in Rise of Iron. With the raid being smaller I’m able to put away some time and enjoy it. I’m still grinding my way to the appropriate light level, but once I get there I will also be the one who bested SIVA.
Wrath of the Machine is the biggest content in Rise of Iron, and in a short amount time a group of players have already completed it. The raids aren’t easy to complete, to see a high end group complete the biggest content in the expansion in just two hours gives some players the hope that it’s not as time consuming as King’s Fall. But preparing for a raid is a time sink in itself. Doing weekly and daily strikes is how I’m getting myself prepared for the raid. How will you get yourself prepared for the Wrath of the Machine raid? I would like to know in the comments.

Destiny 2’s New “Gambit” Mode Revived the Game’s Competitive Scene

Destiny 2’s competitive scene has always been a second thought compared to the co-op PvE activities. At the launch of Destiny 2 Bungie tried a different more team-play orientated approach with an all 4v4 pvp match-up. Over time players got tired of that formula, especially, the way players were strategizing. The only way to be competitive is to team-shot a player at long distance, this was the only way everyone played. This kept the matches long and stale. Bungie understood the frustration and decided that they will change something about the Crucible (PvP). In July, Bungie pushed an update that changed the 4v4 format for Crucible to a 6v6, just how it was like in Destiny 1. Adding two more players on a team might not seem like a big change, but it completely changes how freely your team can strategize, this is especially true with solo matchmaking. Bungie knocked it out of the park with this change, of course they had a lot of help from the community. The community wanted th...

Mario Tennis Aces “Swing Mode” is Really Disappointing

Mario Tennis Aces is the latest entry to the Mario Tennis series. This time around Nintendo did no wrong with their tennis series giving us an adventure mode where you move from level to level to complete a series of challenges, a fun online/offline tournament, and exciting local play. I haven’t played the Mario Tennis series since the GameCube days, but I’m having as much fun as I did back then, expect for one mode that made me hate motion controls. During the lead up to launch I had questions about full motion controls, if they would support it for full matches? Can it be an alternative? and will it be like Wii Sports or will it have depth will in the base game? These questions were answered just a couple of days before launch and I was disappointed in how Nintendo implemented the motion controls. Coming from the developers of Wii Sports and how well the motion controls worked with the tennis mini-game gave me hope that Nintendo could do something great with motion ...

My Game of the Year (2017) – Destiny 2 #3

There was a lot of excitement for the Bungie ’s second go around with Destiny 2 . There was a lot of controversy over what was changed and what didn’t return from the first Destiny .  At first the changes were for the better, it allowed new players to finally wrap their head around the system that was difficult to process in original Destiny.   Rising reputation with an NPC is one change that was assessable newcomers. In Destiny 1 it always felt like a chore, because of the bounty system. This system made it a more difficult task due to the action associated with the bounty – this can range from headshots with a sniper in PvP to complete 3 strikes. With Destiny 2 , the reputation is more streamline with turn-in tokens. Earning these tokens are common and I great resource of gear/weapons when you’re first starting out. These tokens are associated with each planet. Its great Bungie is listening to the players and in doing so, made an assessable loot shooter for the ca...
