Bungie’s first-person shooter has been a console exclusive ever since its launch in 2014. Reported by Kotaku’s Jason Schreier and a NeoGaf poster that goes by benny_a – Destiny 2 will be coming to PC. The sequel to Destiny is reportedly slated for late 2017. Players with high-end computers will be able see Destiny’s universe in a different light. Without the limitations of last generation consoles Destiny can do things that couldn’t be done before. Bungie wants Destiny 2 to be a fully new game, not just an expansion that adds to the base game.
The rumor was first spotted in a NeoGaf post saying that he knew someone at Activision. That person then traveled from plane to train and was shown a presentation on a laptop. Benny_a continues to say that Vicarious Vision and High Moon will help with the project. And oh yeah, matchmaking is in the sequel.

Vicarious Vision has been around since 1990 and partnered with Activision in 2005. Over the years they have made licenses products. They’re releasing a new game in a couple weeks, Skylanders Imaginators – Crash Edition. High Moon is the other studio that will help Bungie with Destiny 2 – on Activision’s behalf. High Moon Studios worked on the first Destiny and has made some good games over its lifespan like, Call of Duty: Advance Warfare, Deadpool (2013), and Transformers: Fall of Cybertron. With so much support for Destiny 2 I can’t see it falling short like base Destiny did.
In Kotaku’s Article, Bungie wants Destiny 2 to be a full sequel even if it means scraping everything from the original game. Planets, characters, strikes, raids, and personal characters, all gone. Jason also says,” People connected to Bungie have made comparisons to Diablo 2, which iterated on the first game in some incredible ways.” I don’t have context for diablo 2’s development but diablo 3 had some changes to it that made the game great in many ways. An associate developer said that,” The Taken King was a reboot for Destiny 1 to fix small things. This is the overhaul to fix big bugs (Destiny 2).”
The article explained “play-in destination” this is a new feature Bungie actively wants. They want every planet to feel lived in, more populated with interesting things and objectives to do. This is aiming more towards an MMO like structure. Moving from place to place doing quest after quest to get the best equipment possible.
Bungie and Activision now have the potential to tap-in the PC audience. And with the way Destiny 2 is looking, it’s going to be a brand new game. A complete sequel will re-brand Destiny, all the issues and problems from vanilla Destiny will be forgotten if they put the right pieces in place for the sequel. The fact that Bungie is even thinking about a PC version of Destiny creates excitement for me and even the community. What do you think about Destiny coming to PC? write it in the comments below.
