Eidos Montreal Moves Forward with Marvel Project, While Deus Ex Takes a Backseat

Deus Ex: Mankind Divided released on August 23rd and was well-regarded by many videogame outlets, that might be the only Deus Ex game you can experience for a while. Kotaku and Eurogamer reported that Eidos Montreal is shifting focus on the Marvel Project and cancelled a planned sequel to Deus Ex.

Eidos Montreal is known for developing the Deus Ex franchise and recently with a leak, actively developing the next Tomb Raider title called Shadow of the Tomb Raider.

In terms of reviews Deus Ex: Mankind Divided was great, but Square Enix thought it would be a good if this franchise took a backseat as the game didn’t do as well as expected from them. It was an investment that took five years to take place.

Eidos Montreal has been supporting the game ever since release, adding some free DLC, two standalone story DLCs called, “System Rift” which is available now and another one called, “A Criminal Past” – this will be release on February 23rd.

Last week Square Enix announced that they will be collaborating with Marvel Entertainment in a multi-project deal. Square Enix’s Crystal Dynamics is taking the lead in this project, with the first title being The Avengers and Guardians of the Galaxy being the next entry. Eidos Montreal is taking a backseat with Deus Ex to help with the Marvel Project.

It’s clear that Square Enix wants to focus on the Marvel Project, this being the first videogame Marvel Entertainment collaboration it can bring in new and excited fans of videogames and Marvel. The well-known publisher has said that we won’t hear more about these games until 2018.

Mario Tennis Aces “Swing Mode” is Really Disappointing

Mario Tennis Aces is the latest entry to the Mario Tennis series. This time around Nintendo did no wrong with their tennis series giving us an adventure mode where you move from level to level to complete a series of challenges, a fun online/offline tournament, and exciting local play. I haven’t played the Mario Tennis series since the GameCube days, but I’m having as much fun as I did back then, expect for one mode that made me hate motion controls. During the lead up to launch I had questions about full motion controls, if they would support it for full matches? Can it be an alternative? and will it be like Wii Sports or will it have depth will in the base game? These questions were answered just a couple of days before launch and I was disappointed in how Nintendo implemented the motion controls. Coming from the developers of Wii Sports and how well the motion controls worked with the tennis mini-game gave me hope that Nintendo could do something great with motion ...

Diving Deep into The Series of Kingdom Hearts – Kingdom Hearts I

About a week ago I decided to dive into one of my favorite series growing-up, Kingdom Hearts . Square released, the HD remaster version on PS4 and the new 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue also on PS4, this focuses on continuing the story and will lead into the third game. If you didn’t know, the HD remaster provides you with six Kingdom Hearts games.           Kingdom Hearts I           Chain of Memories         358/2 Days          Kingdom Hearts II          Birth by Sleep           Re:coded This collection of games is essential to the overall narrative of the game, even though it’s a convoluted mess. I’m using a guide that shows me which games are in chronological order to get the full understanding of the Kingdom Hearts world and who Sora is as a character. Thanks for RPG Grind Time – a column at Gameinformer...

My Game of the Year (2017) – Destiny 2 #3

There was a lot of excitement for the Bungie ’s second go around with Destiny 2 . There was a lot of controversy over what was changed and what didn’t return from the first Destiny .  At first the changes were for the better, it allowed new players to finally wrap their head around the system that was difficult to process in original Destiny.   Rising reputation with an NPC is one change that was assessable newcomers. In Destiny 1 it always felt like a chore, because of the bounty system. This system made it a more difficult task due to the action associated with the bounty – this can range from headshots with a sniper in PvP to complete 3 strikes. With Destiny 2 , the reputation is more streamline with turn-in tokens. Earning these tokens are common and I great resource of gear/weapons when you’re first starting out. These tokens are associated with each planet. Its great Bungie is listening to the players and in doing so, made an assessable loot shooter for the ca...
