Blizzard Might Have Teased a New Young Prodigy Hero for Overwatch

Overwatch is centered around the characters, every hero affects one another because of their unique abilities. So, it makes sense that every character reveal feels like a huge event. Look at the long awaited Sombra, it took a long time for Blizzard to even confirm that she is the new hero being added – doing this adds and creates hype around the new character.

Yesterday, Blizzard released a news article called, “Atlas News” which is the news outlet in Overwatch. I love seeing developers adding details about a game from an outside source. Many MMOs have done this – giving hints about the next big thing on the game’s website. Anyway, the news article is focused on a young 11-year old girl that lives in a city (in-game) named, “Numbani”.

The article states that Efi Oladele has,” built a resume of impressive achievements in robotics and artificial intelligence.” Then last month Efi received Adawe Foundation’s “genius grant”. In receiving the grant, she agreed to an interview with the in-game news outlet, Atlas News.

From the questions that was asked, we got a quick look at what this “new hero” can be. So far, we know that Efi Oladele is a 11-year old girl that has an affinity for robots and AI technology. You can feel the energy she gives off from her talking about her passion – excitement, eagerness, and has that sense of humor that I can relate to also.

These kinds of hints are amazing, giving the players some immersion between the games world to the real world can gather interest because it’s a new form of releasing information – some players might not even know about it. My hope is to see the developers do more of this kind of teases, I’m sure Blizzard will figure out different and new ways to tease out information, so I’m now waiting for the next time there is information about a new Overwatch hero.

Fortnite: Battle Royale: Season 4 Just Made Some Crazy Changes and I in Love with it

Fortnite has become this huge juggernaut in the gaming industry ever since Epic released their Battle Royale mode in late September. The Battle Pass implementation gave the player a progression system that gamify the Battle Royale mode, of which PUBG does not have. Having something to accomplish in-between gathering and fighting during each match creates a sense of accomplishment. In a game where there is a 100-player free-for-all fight, your chances of winning are low, allowing the Battle Pass rewards gives the player this satisfaction of accomplishment even if you lose. Over the past month, Epic has been teasing and creating ARGs in-game for the lead up to Season 4. Hearing about the meteors crashing down on Tilted Towers was cool but I didn’t think anything of it, as I thought it to be a cosmetic choice. But after seeing the video where Titled Towers got hit with small meteors during a match made me believe that the rumored Superhero themed Season Pass might be true. Long a
