Titanfall 2 First Update “Angel City’s Most Wanted”

Titanfall 2 has released the first of many free updates to the multiplayer, just in time too because Respawn just announced a free multiplayer weekend. The update brings back players to the first Titanfall with the Angel City map. Along with balancing changes and bug fixes, the biggest change is to the Titans. Because of free DLCs, Respawn added a cosmetic store to make you look good in battle. This is the first of many free “DLC” for Titanfall 2.

Check out the full patch notes here. Thanks to VG247.com

Free Multiplayer Trial Weekend
Respawn is opening a free multiplayer weekend for all platforms. With so many FPS games released this year Titanfall 2 might have fallen out of player’s radar.  This is a great way to try out Titanfall 2 if you haven’t already. EA Access and Origin Access members will have an early start on PC, which started yesterday November 30th. The free trial will release for all platforms on December 2nd. When participating in the trial, any progress you have made will carry over if you decide to buy the full game.

New Map: Angel City
The DLC is called “Angel City’s Most Wanted”, which is the name of the new map. This map will be familiar for fans of the first game, because it is a remastered version. The map is currently playable for per-order purchasers and will be live for everyone on Friday December 2 at 4pm PST.

Cool Titans for Titanfall 2
What makes Titanfall so different from all other FPS are the Titans. Now Respawn is taking it a little farther with the new additions of Titan kits. This gives Titans more abilities, for example; Ronin: Phase Reflex – Ronin phases out of danger when doomed, or Ion: Refraction Lens -A rifle that splits five ways. This provides diverse gameplay on Titans.

Customization of Titans was a major point in this DLC, because of the addition of the new paid cosmetic store. You can now change the chassis of any Titan unlocking new sounds, and execution. Killing and earning points for your team is important, but that doesn’t matter if your Titan isn’t looking as cool as you feel.

DLC Complete
Titanfall 2 released almost a month ago, I’ve know that upcoming DLCs will be free which is why I chose Titanfall over Battlefield and Call of Duty. It was a bit of a surprise because the game is still relatively new, but I’m not going to complain. This is great for the community because there were so many shooters releasing around Titanfall not enough players were expose to this newish shooting title. Right now, is the perfect time to start with the free multiplayer weekend.

When Respawn announced that all DLCs will be free I thought, “how will they make money from the game?” Sure enough, they’ve added an in-game store purely for cosmetics. Players can only purchase cosmetics through real money, players cannot use in game currency to gain access to the cosmetics.

If Respawn keeps supporting Titanfall 2 like they did in the first month of release, this game can become or overshadow the biggest shooters.

Mario Tennis Aces “Swing Mode” is Really Disappointing

Mario Tennis Aces is the latest entry to the Mario Tennis series. This time around Nintendo did no wrong with their tennis series giving us an adventure mode where you move from level to level to complete a series of challenges, a fun online/offline tournament, and exciting local play. I haven’t played the Mario Tennis series since the GameCube days, but I’m having as much fun as I did back then, expect for one mode that made me hate motion controls. During the lead up to launch I had questions about full motion controls, if they would support it for full matches? Can it be an alternative? and will it be like Wii Sports or will it have depth will in the base game? These questions were answered just a couple of days before launch and I was disappointed in how Nintendo implemented the motion controls. Coming from the developers of Wii Sports and how well the motion controls worked with the tennis mini-game gave me hope that Nintendo could do something great with motion ...

My Game of the Year (2017) – Destiny 2 #3

There was a lot of excitement for the Bungie ’s second go around with Destiny 2 . There was a lot of controversy over what was changed and what didn’t return from the first Destiny .  At first the changes were for the better, it allowed new players to finally wrap their head around the system that was difficult to process in original Destiny.   Rising reputation with an NPC is one change that was assessable newcomers. In Destiny 1 it always felt like a chore, because of the bounty system. This system made it a more difficult task due to the action associated with the bounty – this can range from headshots with a sniper in PvP to complete 3 strikes. With Destiny 2 , the reputation is more streamline with turn-in tokens. Earning these tokens are common and I great resource of gear/weapons when you’re first starting out. These tokens are associated with each planet. Its great Bungie is listening to the players and in doing so, made an assessable loot shooter for the ca...

My 2016 Game of the Year: # 5 Firewatch

#5 Firewatch When I first saw early builds of Firewatch I thought it was a different and new approach in an engaging narrative. The way you can interact with objects and the small clues you can find within the environment provides more life to the world. Firewatch was the first game I played in the genre, but there are other games that have the same kind of first-person narrative. Gone Home is one of the recent and well-received first-person narrative game. The two games are similar in gameplay, you walk from objective to objective trying to put the pieces together in the world. Gone Home is set in a house, and in Firewatch’s case, you’re in an open forest. Campo Santo are the developers of Firewatch and was formed by former Telltales: The Walking Dead developers. Once I knew about Campo Santo and the developers that were working on the game I had a sense of what to expect. Character Building Makes You Sympathize with Henry The game starts strong with a se...
