Super Puzzle Fighter Announced for Mobile

As a kid, I never was into puzzle games, mostly because my young brain wasn’t patient enough to handle the complexity of the puzzles even if it’s a simple puzzle game. One day hanging out a relative’s house, I saw one of my cousins playing something that seemed like a puzzle game but there was one difference – there were cartoon versions of my favorite fighting game, Street Fighter. Watching these known characters battle while doing a Tetris-like puzzle was mind-blowing for a 7 or 8-year-old to comprehend. Though I never liked puzzle games, the fighting was a distraction. This game was the first game that made me thought that two games can work amazingly well as a single game. That was 15 years ago, now its 2017 and Capcom is releasing a new Puzzle Fighter game on iOS and Android later this year. Capcom released two trailers showing some of the characters in action. Among those are Ryu, Ken, Chun-Li, even Megaman, and other Capcom properties. From the trailer, it seems li

Giving No Man’s Sky Another Chance

It’s been just over a year since the disaster release of No Man’s Sky . The promises Hello Games wanted for the game wasn’t fulfilled, in doing so, it enraged the community leading to death threats, refunds, and finally leading the team to complete silence. After a mess of a launch, Hello Games are quietly releasing updates that fundamentally changing the game with new features. There already has been three updates, The Foundation update which added new game modes, base building, improved UI, and new resources and technology. The second update was called Path Finder , it improves visuals, online base sharing, on-land vehicles, camera mode, and more. The most recent update was substantial, Atlas Rises – this update adds multiplayer (joint exploration), a new 30-hour story, new worlds, terrain manipulation, portals, and space combat. After playing in the first week of launch, I enjoyed what I’ve played, but had little substance to keep me engaged. Now that there’re improv

Diving Deep into The Series of Kingdom Hearts – Kingdom Hearts I

About a week ago I decided to dive into one of my favorite series growing-up, Kingdom Hearts . Square released, the HD remaster version on PS4 and the new 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue also on PS4, this focuses on continuing the story and will lead into the third game. If you didn’t know, the HD remaster provides you with six Kingdom Hearts games.           Kingdom Hearts I           Chain of Memories         358/2 Days          Kingdom Hearts II          Birth by Sleep           Re:coded This collection of games is essential to the overall narrative of the game, even though it’s a convoluted mess. I’m using a guide that shows me which games are in chronological order to get the full understanding of the Kingdom Hearts world and who Sora is as a character. Thanks for RPG Grind Time – a column at Gameinformer  Kingdom Hearts 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue (These names are ridiculous) from what I understand isn’t about Sora and his adventures, but with a

Fortnite Caught Me in Its Loop

Fortnite wasn’t a game I was fully interested in. Fortnite has been in development for 5+ years and is now open for paid early access. This made me less interested than the first time I heard about Fortnite . However, once I saw videos and how much fun it looks – I decided to give it a shot without any expectation. Too my surprise, I’m loving it. Fortnite has many genres that intertwine with each other, some that works and some that don’t. The moment to moment gameplay is a combination of resource gathering, base building, tower defense, and 3 rd person shooting. This all surprisingly works well, and has me hooked in its loop. Gathering is easy and effortless – even with the “weak point” mechanic. Using those resources, you craft bullets, weapons, buildings, or traps. Like gathering, building is just as simple once you get the hang of it. The building blocks can be edited, making it flexible in what structure you and your team wants build. The tower defense side of
