No Man’s Sky 1.1 “Foundation Update”

Finally, the silence from Hello Games has ended today, with the release of the Foundation Update. This is the first of many free updates. The Foundation Update gives the player three modes to choose from. Normal mode, Creative mode, and survival mode. Each mode presents new challenges for the player to overcome. Along with the new modes, there are also UI changes and tweaks to the overall gameplay. This was the update I was waiting for, it still may not be the game everyone wanted, but it’s a big step forward in making the game Hello Games imagined. The three modes you choose will impact the way you play. Normal mode doesn’t change much in terms of gameplay, but it’s the two new modes that change the way players play. Creative mode gives the player complete freedom, resources don’t play apart in your ship fuel or suit. The last mode is Survival which ramps up the difficulty. Resource intake is more severe, and environments are more hostile. These modes are a great addition,

Blizzard is Re-designing Symmetra’s Abilities

Prior to Overwatch’s release Blizzard had a firm layout for Overwatch. Anyone can switch heroes at any time without the restriction of multiple heroes. That’s now gone in quickplay and competitive play. Over the months after release, Blizzard is always iterating, improving, and balancing heroes. The recent change they made was to Symmerta. In a developer’s update video Jeff Kaplan (Blizzard VP and Overwatch’s Game Director) talked about redesigning Symmerta and what they want from the changes. One of Overwatch’s big appeal was the fact that your team composition was flexible during matches. Now Blizzard has shied away from some of those ideas. But it’s all for the better, they’ve added an arcade mode which lets the player have more options in game modes. And of course, there has been already many tweaks and changes to all the heroes. But nothing as severe as the upcoming Symmetra update. On Tuesday, Jeff Kaplan release a video that addresses Symmetra and how player are uti

Dishonored 2 Early Impressions

The original Dishonored was the first stealth that I completed and enjoyed. Moving through well-thought environments with the abilities given to you is rewarding. Arkane Studio double downed on the detail in the environments. Every building and room has something worth exploring. The Dishonored franchise allows for multiple playthroughs as no playthrough is the same. Now there’s even more reason to replay the story, and that’s the addition of Emily Kaldwin as a playable protagonist. Each character has distinct abilities that works incredibly well with the environments. The game starts off with the main conflict that includes the Kaldwin family and Corvo. Delilah Kaldwin (Antagonist/Emily’s Aunt) comes to Dunwall to claim her place on the throne. You then can choose to play as Corvo (Protagonist in Dishonored) or Emily, the empress. With completely different powers you can find your way in and out of a situation in so many ways. Arkane made each power powerful but also fl

Overwatch’s New Arcade Mode is Here. I’m back and Enjoying it.

Overwatch was a major game released in 2016, it was the first game to mainstream arena-based shooters. With diverse characters and abilities, you are sure to find what fits you best. Even though it’s fun playing the game, there wasn’t much in terms of game modes. Over the past months Blizzard has added new modes with competitive rank, cycling through the weekly brawls , and recently , Arcade mode . Before Arcade I haven’t touch Overwatch in an extended amount of time, but now I can’t stop thinking about how much fun to be had in Arcade mode. Arcade mode was added to the game last week on PTR (Public Test Realms), which is only available on PC. There is no official release for the live servers yet. If “Ana” (first added hero) is any indication of hero release, everything on the PTR with be added to the live servers within week. Overwatch's New Play Menu When Blizzard announced that they were adding more modes, I instantly knew that this was going to bring me ba

Overwatch’s New Hero Sombra is Finally Out

After the flurries of announcements from BlizzCon , Blizzard released a big patch for Overwatch with the addition of Arcade mode and the hacker hero Sombra a day early. Everyone including me, rushed to the PTR (Public Test Realms) to finally play as the hacker Sombra. I wanted to see how her skills differ from the other heroes. And it was the perfect time to try out new heroes because of a new mode called, “No Limits” which allows for any type of team composition. The new Overwatch hero was a long time coming. Before the announcement at BlizzCon the Overwatch community was vocal about who or what Sombra was. Blizzard didn’t help with subtle hints in the game either. But now she’s out and ready to fight. Sombra is only out for PTR which is only on PC. There is no date when she will be release in the live servers for PC and consoles. Sombra is an offense classed hero with utility abilities. She can stop enemy hero’s abilities with abilities of her own. “ Hack ” a

BlizzCon 2016 has a Little of Everything

Every year Blizzard Entertainment hosts their own game event for the fans. This has been a banner year for Blizzard with the release of Overwatch and World of Warcraft : Legion . BlizzCon was hosted in Anaheim, California and fans could’ve watched the event if they paid $39.99 for a virtual ticket. Blizzard came out with more announcement than I thought. Just about every Blizzard game has something new to give very soon. Diablo 3 The rumors coming in to this event were involved and active. The Diablo 4 rumors were coming in hot, a lot of gamers believe that it was going to happen because of the 20 th anniversary of the franchise, but it didn’t. Instead Blizzard is going to remake parts of Diablo into Diablo 3 in a free update called “ Darkening of Tristram ”. That, I think is better than releasing another sequel. With how the release of Diablo 3 went, I just want Blizzard to iterate and make Diablo 3 the best game it can possibly be. The update will feature 16 dungeon levels

Titanfall 2 Multiplayer is Fast-Pace and Full of Action

The first Titanfall was known and loved for their high action, mech fighting multiplayer, now with new weapons and modes. The fast-pace nature of the game makes the gunplay feel fun and seamless when combining the grappling hook with wall running. This was just one way to play as the multiplayer allows the player to mix and match your loadouts. Moving around buildings and terrain feels amazing. Before starting a match, you got to add your own spin to your loadout. There is so much customization from you to your gun all the way to your mechanized buddy. When you first start out you will be entitled to three out of seven classes. To list a few, “Stim” will provide the player with a burst of speed and health for a small amount of time, “Grapple” speaks for itself – you can grapple to an object and fly in that direction, and “Pulse Blade “gives the player a throwing knife that will project all the enemies in the pulse knife’s range. Playing matches will earn curre
