Intuitive Controls Makes PUBG Mobile a Good Alternative to its PC Port

In 2017 PUBG took the video game industry by storm. The quickness of every match, the simple loop of “drop, loot, and shoot” is a great place for new players to drop-in for a few matches. Although the gameplay loop is simple and easy to pick up the button layout is a small hill to climb. On mobile they remove all the knowledge you need to know about the inventory system and added support for better aiming.

PUBG on PC movements are identical to any other shooter but navigating the inventory and managing weapons/mods takes time – in a game where every moment is crucial being in a menu for any extended time can be the end of your match. On the mobile version if you walk over the items it will automatically equip anything you don’t have filled – like a secondary gun, ammo, or energy drinks/pain killers – this also applies to mods as it will equip any unfilled mod slot on the appropriate weapon. Knowing the weapons and mods gives you the upper hand because you can hand pick mods that you saved for different situations – the game doesn’t loot mods that aren’t needed.

Playing a shooter on PC will be a completely different experience on mobile. The shooting in PUBG on PC feels impactful and weighted; using a mouse gives us so much control in movement, aiming, and customization. This is how PUBG should be experience on the PC with a mouse and keyboard, but its now not the only way to experience PUBG.

PUBG Mobile isn’t one-to-one with the PC version but it’s close. The first map I’ve played was Erangle (the green lush map), I’m not sure if Miramar is implemented, but the map I’ve played was like the PC version. One crucial addition that was implemented to mobile that isn’t on PC is the Gyroscope support. I recommend turning this feature on as it creates a more accurate shot. Gyro controls are used to control the camera with your phone, turning your phone to the left will aim the camera to the left. If you played Splatoon, Nintendo’s paint shooter also has gyro support and it works amazingly well.

Using the gyro controls isn’t as accurate as a mouse, but it does the job. Using the gyro control is also a better alternative to the main camera control supported for mobile. Using your right thumb will give you control over the camera, but with so many buttons on screen you need your right thumb access them all, that’s why using gyro controls is important it allows you to control the camera without using any fingers or thumbs. I’ve been in multiple situations that saved me because I was able to move, control camera, and shoot all at the same time.

PUBG for PC will always be my main way to get my chicken dinner – there are more options in customization, control, and graphics which gives PC the obvious choice to play. But now that PUBG is on mobile players that don’t have a PC or Xbox can finally experience 2017’s biggest game. The controls on mobile aren’t as intuitive as PC or even Xbox, but PUBG Mobile has the best control support of any shooter on mobile, with the gyro control, and the auto loot/equip PUBG Mobile is also a great way to experience PUBG for free.

Mario Tennis Aces “Swing Mode” is Really Disappointing

Mario Tennis Aces is the latest entry to the Mario Tennis series. This time around Nintendo did no wrong with their tennis series giving us an adventure mode where you move from level to level to complete a series of challenges, a fun online/offline tournament, and exciting local play. I haven’t played the Mario Tennis series since the GameCube days, but I’m having as much fun as I did back then, expect for one mode that made me hate motion controls. During the lead up to launch I had questions about full motion controls, if they would support it for full matches? Can it be an alternative? and will it be like Wii Sports or will it have depth will in the base game? These questions were answered just a couple of days before launch and I was disappointed in how Nintendo implemented the motion controls. Coming from the developers of Wii Sports and how well the motion controls worked with the tennis mini-game gave me hope that Nintendo could do something great with motion ...

My Game of the Year (2017) – Destiny 2 #3

There was a lot of excitement for the Bungie ’s second go around with Destiny 2 . There was a lot of controversy over what was changed and what didn’t return from the first Destiny .  At first the changes were for the better, it allowed new players to finally wrap their head around the system that was difficult to process in original Destiny.   Rising reputation with an NPC is one change that was assessable newcomers. In Destiny 1 it always felt like a chore, because of the bounty system. This system made it a more difficult task due to the action associated with the bounty – this can range from headshots with a sniper in PvP to complete 3 strikes. With Destiny 2 , the reputation is more streamline with turn-in tokens. Earning these tokens are common and I great resource of gear/weapons when you’re first starting out. These tokens are associated with each planet. Its great Bungie is listening to the players and in doing so, made an assessable loot shooter for the ca...

Destiny 2 Event: An Underwhelming Return for Lord Saladin and The Iron Banner

Over the last week Destiny 2 held The Iron Banner, an event that occurs every month. Lord Saladin visits the tower with neat looking armor and weapons that will be rewarded to the guardians that are participating. This new iteration of The Iron Banner is great for new players, it gives them a reason to come back every day and the token system is simple, unlike the bounty system in Destiny 1. Though this iteration of Iron Banner caters to the new and casual audience, it leaves us mid to hardcore players with not much to care about. There’s nothing that progresses our power level, no difficulty with Light advantage off, and on top of that, players not committing to an Iron Banner match. Eastern-Inspired Iron Banner Gear  I’ve dabbled in Iron Banner in Destiny 1, it wasn’t my kind of game mode. I liked the PvP in both Destiny and Destiny 2, but once someone talks about hardcore PvP my interest was gone, my only incentives were getting the gear and getting my Light ...
