Overwatch Just Released Its April Update with New Skins, Poses, and a New PvE Mode

Yesterday, Blizzard released their April updating, “The Uprising”. This update has new skins, poses, sprays, and emotes, just like most of Overwatch’s pervious events. Also in the update is a new PvE mode, this is the second PvE mode that was introduced to the game – first was the Halloween event’s “Junkenstein’s Revenge”. Unlike Junkenstein’s Revenge, Uprisings new mode shares a lot of similarities of the regular competitive modes.

The uprising is focused on the narrative of the game – the good vs the bad. Being so, the new skins represents the Overwatch team as a unit – each have unique armor but the same color scheme. As for the Talon group (Bad guys) they all have very diverse skins, which makes the Talon group feel less like a unit/team.

The biggest addition to the “Uprising” event is the new PvE mode. The game starts with an introduction video that introduces the premise of the mode. The King’s Row area was setup to build new homes for the humanoid robots (Omnics) and the first steps in improving relations with humans since the war against the Omnics 20 years ago. But an Omnic extremes group (Nullsector) attacked King’s Row and took control, that’s where the Overwatch team comes in to play.

This mode has two separate versions with various difficulty. The main mode only has Tracer, Reinhardt, Mercy, and Torbjorn to select from, the second version opens the whole 24-hero roster. Each one of these versions has four difficulty a normal, hard, expert, and legendary. In this mode, you and your three other teammates must take control of three points throughout the map while enemy robots bombard your team. Once the points have been captured, your team must escort a payload to its destination. All these mechanics are very much the same as in the competitive modes we’ve been playing. It’s a cool new take with the same mechanic, in which makes the mode more approachable and easier to understand.

Because this is the second PvE mode, Blizzard has taken cues from its past PvE mode, Junkenstein’s Revenge. In Junkenstein’s Revenge there was a set of heroes to choose from, in The Uprising there are two modes one with hero restriction and one without one. Another thing they changed are the way players can recover from a mistake, in this mode, if you die you can be revived by your teammate (without mercy’s ultimate). These new modes Blizzard creates are so much fun and improving it with every mode previous makes it more enticing to play these new modes.

It’s almost been a year since Overwatch released and it’s consistently giving us updates and events that players can enjoy. If you want to give the new mode a try and test your skills against these Omnic Extremist or if you just want to grab some of these sick new skins you have until May 1 before the event ends so get them fast!

Fortnite: Battle Royale: Season 4 Just Made Some Crazy Changes and I in Love with it

Fortnite has become this huge juggernaut in the gaming industry ever since Epic released their Battle Royale mode in late September. The Battle Pass implementation gave the player a progression system that gamify the Battle Royale mode, of which PUBG does not have. Having something to accomplish in-between gathering and fighting during each match creates a sense of accomplishment. In a game where there is a 100-player free-for-all fight, your chances of winning are low, allowing the Battle Pass rewards gives the player this satisfaction of accomplishment even if you lose. Over the past month, Epic has been teasing and creating ARGs in-game for the lead up to Season 4. Hearing about the meteors crashing down on Tilted Towers was cool but I didn’t think anything of it, as I thought it to be a cosmetic choice. But after seeing the video where Titled Towers got hit with small meteors during a match made me believe that the rumored Superhero themed Season Pass might be true. Long a
