Final Fantasy as a series – has always had incredible
graphics from character models to vistas and landscapes. This day in age
graphics aren’t as important as they use to be, but boy there have been some
amazing sights only videogames can create.
Final Fantasy 14 might not be the best looking Final Fantasy, but it is the best looking MMO. I’ve been playing for
two weeks now and over that time I got time to explore FF14’s latest expansion Stormblood.
I’m going to show pictures of all the landscapes and vistas I loved, while
giving some lore bits with some photos.
Baelsar’s Wall
Here we see Baelsar’s Wall. A wall built
under the late conqueror Gaius van Baelsar dividing Eorzea and Ala Mhigo. The
wall was built to keep primals (summons) out of Ala Mhigo and other Garlean
territories. Eorzea has primals because aether cyrstals are more prominent, and
for four years we’ve been fighting them to save Eorzea. Now, we head to the
east to liberate Ala Mhigo and Doma.

Nyunkrepf’s
Hope
Nyunkrepf’s hope was built by a giant
Roegadyn(race) from the north named Nyunkrepf Nyunkrepfsyn. He foresaw floods
through astrology and decided he and a group of tailors wanted to help. Along
the way to Eorzea he rescued many souls adrift at sea. As the journey drew
closer to the end, Nyunkrepf felt a tidal wave incoming. Knowing that his ship
would be destroyed, he desperately cast a powerful and ancient magick over the
ship, knowing not where they would land. Thus, the ship and everyone on it
found themselves teleported to Abalathia’s Spine.
The
Azim Steppe
The Azim Steppe is a vast grassland that
stretches across the far reaches of northern Othard. This lush green land is
populated with the nomadic Au Ra clan -- Xaela, and is the ancestral home of
the Au Ra (race). The Xaela are worshipers of the Dawn Father (Azim) and the
Dusk Mother (Nhaama), they are also known for their unique set of belief. The
Dorthal tribe, believe that if you’re a known warrior and die in battle you
will be reborn. They even give the same name and force them to learn the same
things as the person before. This is just one out of the fifty tribes, all of
which are very territorial and are in constant conflict over land.
